Won’t You Please Reach Out?

if boredom and loneliness are symptoms you’ve been experiencing these last 6 months, can you imagine what it must be like for those in prison?
COVID-19 prevented our Kairos Prison Ministry Team to visit and share Christ’s Word and cookies with the men in Greensville Correctional Center this past spring and the fall weekend has also been cancelled. These men feel so isolated and alone. We’re asking you to be part of a letter writing campaign to offer them encouragement and the love of Christ.

This is a simple way to shine God’s light into a very dark place. Won’t you consider reaching out to them? There are very specific criteria that must be followed, but they need to hear from Thalia UMC.

Share the love of Christ by hand written or typed letters. Feel free to include God’s promises, Bible verses, and words of encouragement. No greeting cards please.

You may share a challenge you have faced and how your faith in God has helped you through that challenge. Let the “residents” know that you are praying for them.

Please do not send cards, stamps, money, or photos.

The chaplains will post the letters in the four housing units. Mail to:
