Reflection (Traditional Service)

In a week when we all need to remember that #blacklivesmatter as well as the anniversary of the tragedy in Building 2 in Virginia Beach, we need to cling to the power of the Holy Spirit. This Sunday, we remember Acts 2 and the day of Pentecost, which marks the birth of the church. Our job as a church today is to reflect the kingdom of Jesus Christ in a world that is plagued with injustice and heartache. We can only do this through the presence of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. One of the ways we can #makechurchaverb is calling out the forces that stand in opposition to Jesus Christ and serve as agents of transformation in the world. We can't settle for learning about and knowing what scripture says, we have to reflect its meaning in our lives. We have to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in every corner of our lives.
